Three Generations on the Road

Duff's started with one truck and a phone that rang at all hours. Sixty years later the fleet is bigger and the trucks are newer, but the job hasn't changed much — someone is stuck, and someone has to come get them.

The drivers here are career operators, not seasonal help. They know the highways, the back roads and the shortcuts, and they know how to load a car without leaving a mark on it.

Milestones

1962 Duff family buys its first wrecker and starts taking calls around Whitby.

1984 Second generation takes the wheel; the fleet grows to include flatbeds.

2003 Duff’s begins working regularly with local police and municipal fleets.

Today Third generation dispatching 24/7 across Durham Region and Ontario.
